Anatomy of Computer

Anatomy of Computer: Introduction to Computers (definition, characteristics), System unit (memory, ALU & control unit), Input / Output devices, Storage devices (Memory- primary & secondary).                                                                                              Computer Software: Introduction, Type (system, application & utility). Computer networks: Definition, components, network topology.                                      Internet Induced Digital Transformation – Concept, Importance of digital transformation in today’s business scenario. Exploring the Windows: Windows Apps.

Unit II: 
Introduction to Word Processing:

Introduction to Word Processing: Features of Word processors working with word documents using shortcut keys. Formatting documents: Selecting text, character & paragraph formatting with using indents, tabs, alignment, spacing, bullets and numbering and borders.

Editing Text: Find & Replace, Go to command, proofing text (Spell check & Check grammar using thesaurus, Auto correct), Macros, Insert & format pictures, Hyperlinks. Page setup : page margins, orientation, headers and footers, end notes and foot notes, page borders.

Working with tables: Create, format, sort, table formula (Sum, Min, Max, Avg), converting text to table and vice versa. Create newspaper columns, indexes and table of contents. Create bookmarks and cross referencing, adding sources and bibliography. Mail merge: Creating and editing the main document and data source sorting and filtering in merged documents. OLE (Object Linking and embedding).

Introduction to Spreadsheets:

Introduction to Spreadsheets: spreadsheet, workbooks, worksheet Operations (save, open an existing worksheet move, copy, insert, delete, rename, print), controlling worksheet views, Filling series, sort, formatting worksheet (Adjusting margins, orientation).

Various Tools & functions: cell referencing (Relative, Absolute, Mixed). Basic /Inbuilt function (SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, MIN), date and time, copy & paste Special function, protecting worksheets (File level security and protect data within the worksheet), headers and footers. Logical Functions: IF, lookup, Consolidating function. Creating charts and graphics in Excel: Types of charts, create chart from adjacent data/ nonadjacent data, data series, editing and formatting chart, printing worksheet & chart, and creating Sparkline graphics.

what-if analysis Functions: Introduction, goal-seek, solver, data table, scenario manager. Analysis using pivot tables: Create, format and modify a pivot table and pivot table charts , sorting, filtering.

Power point presentation Introduction:

Power point presentation Introduction: Creating a blank presentation, design template, creating and managing slides, using content place holders. creating graphs, tables, diagrams, organization charts, insert images. Viewing and navigating a presentation: outline view, slide sorter, master views, slide& title master, handout , notes master, hyperlinks, advanced navigation with action settings, action buttons

Animation: animation schemes (custom animation, Text animation), understanding sound file formats and adding music, sound and video clips. Final presentation: Apply transition to slides, controlling transition speed, using hidden slides, custom shows, screen pen.

Introduction to Database Management:

Introduction to Database Management: Database Terminology, Table (Create Tables, table fields, with Data types, changing table design, Field Properties), Primary Keys and field validation and record validation rules, Indexing, working with multiple tables, Relationships & Integrity Rules, Join Properties, Record manipulation, Sorting & Filtering. Select data with queries: Creating Query by design & by wizard (Select, Make Table, Append, Delete, Cross Tab, Update), Creating multi table queries (create & working with table joins, using operators & expressions: Creating simple & advance criteria). Working with forms: Creating Basic forms, working with bound, unbound controls, Form layout (list box, combo box). Working with Reports: Creating Basic Reports , Header & Footer, Placing Controls on reports, sorting.
