Objective of the Webinar : To acquaint students with the benefits of LinkedIn, developing network and seeking for career opportunities as well as how to draft a complete and attractive profile.

The Faculty of Commerce & Management, IIS (deemed to be) University, Jaipur has organized a Webinar on ‘How to Use LinkedIN Effectively’ for the Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of Commerce and Management. The guest speaker was Mr. Alexis Grandchamp Des Raux, Intern, IESEG School of Management, Paris (France). The purpose of the webinar was to acquaint students with the benefits of LinkedIn, developing network and seeking for career opportunities as well as how to draft a complete and attractive profile. There were about 130 students who attended and benefitted with the session. The session was started with the welcome note for Mr. Alexis. He further took the opportunity and gave a brief introduction about LinkedIn. LinkedIn is one of the best platforms for recruitment around the world. He shared interesting facts about how LinkedIn develops professional network for users. He discussed how to make an effective profile on LinkedIn and maximize its visibility for the recruiters.

Further Mr. Alexis gave some valuable tips to boost profile on LinkedIn. They are:

• Expand your Network wisely.

• Maximize the Strength of your Profile.

• See your profile as a Visitor

• Show your availability.

• Look at the other Profiles.

At the end he emphasized on the pros and cons of the LinkedIn profile like easy to use, quick access to information, connection between professionals, platform for career opportunity, online CV for recruiters on the contrary incomplete profile, fake news, bad buzz, used other than the professional purpose leaves a bad impression. He then concluded the session by a quick summary and took up questions of students.

Learning outcome: The session was interesting, insightful and interactive with the students. It broadens the perspective towards LinkedIn and professional networking. It was helpful for students to understand how LinkedIn provides a good platform for job seeking and develops Personal Branding. The students became aware about how to furnish information and use of keywords to make their profile attractive.
